Fleet Management in 2010 - A Future with a Past

The Roman God Janus (the apt origin of "January") is a particularly appropriate symbol for this New Year. The end of a decade, the beginning of another. The conclusion of a year that continued to witness national and global turbulence.

I was reminded of the two-faced depiction most often associated with Janus - one face looking forward and the other backward - to the future and the past - by a letter to the editor appearing in Automotive Fleet's January issue.

In this letter, Chuck Kukal, whose considerable career responsibilities include supervisor of fleet for Infinity Insurance Company in Birmingham, Ala., offered his well-thought perspective on the past and future in the U.S. fleet industry - challenges and opportunities.
