The Bergstrom/Kohler HPS combines the Bergstrom NITE® Plus System with a KOHLER DC Power unit to provide stable power to over-the-road (OTR) drivers, enabling them to efficiently run the HVAC (heating, ventilating and air conditioning) system without idling the truck’s main engine. About Bergstrom/Kohler Hybrid Power Idling-Reduction System
The Bergstrom/Kohler Hybrid Power System facilitates uninterrupted use of heating and air conditioning units — without idling the truck’s engine — through the use of zero emissions-battery power. When the HPS batteries dip to low voltage levels, the KOHLER DC Power unit automatically activates to recharge the batteries, bypassing the need for engine idling.
Kohler’s DC Power unit features a custom sound-attenuated enclosure for quiet operation, as well as longer maintenance intervals due to running solely for the purpose of recharging the batteries powering Bergstrom's No-Idle Thermal Environment (NITE) system.
