THOMASVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. (NASDAQ: ODFL) regrets to announce the passing of John B. Yowell, the Company's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, on December 30, 2010. A 27-year employee of Old Dominion, Mr. Yowell had served in his current position since January 2008 and as Executive Vice President since May 1997. During his career, he also held senior positions in a number of functional areas within Old Dominion, including Corporate Services, Operations and Information Technology.
David S. Congdon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Old Dominion, said, "We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of John Yowell, an integral member of the OD Family. John served Old Dominion with distinction in positions of increasing responsibility spanning almost three decades.
