Carburetor Connection Partners with Blue Star Gas to Deliver World’s Most Widely Used Alternative Fuel to Puget Sound Region

SEATTLE – Blue Star Gas, the West Coast clean fuel provider for the Alliance AutoGas national network, has partnered with Carburetor Connection to provide propane autogas conversions to Puget Sound fleets. Propane autogas is an American-made fuel that helps fleets save money and reduces emissions, without sacrificing performance.

“We’re proud to partner with Blue Star Gas and get more Washington fleets running on clean burning and affordable autogas through the Alliance AutoGas integrated program,” says Carb Connection President Alex Racz. “Autogas is a cost-effective alternative fuel that produces fewer harmful pollutants, while delivering substantial bottom line savings to fleet owners.”

A green-tech trendsetter in the Puget Sound region, Carb Connection specialized in high-performance, emissions-reducing automotive services long before the recent emphasis on environmental regulations for vehicles. As a certified autogas conversion center, Carb Connection will now service a variety of vehicle fleet types, including police cars, taxis, limousines, paratransit shuttles, municipal and state motor pools, food and beverage distribution vans, utility company fleets, and more.

“CarbConn will play a pivotal role in helping fleets in the Puget Sound region shift to autogas,” says Blue Star Gas President Jeff Stewart. “As the network of certified autogas conversion centers in the U.S. continues to expand, autogas plays an increasingly critical part in enhancing energy security and saving money while improving the environment.  Seldom does one find a triple play like this one.”

Autogas costs an average of $1 per gallon less than gasoline, and Alliance AutoGas fuel providers like Blue Star Gas install on-site fueling at no upfront cost for qualifying fleets. Fleets also save on maintenance costs, since autogas burns cleaner than gasoline.

Autogas is the third most widely used fuel in the world, behind only gasoline and diesel, powering more than 17 million vehicles globally. Though autogas is considered an “alternative fuel” in the U.S. because it’s clean-burning and 90 percent domestically produced, consumers in many other countries can purchase vehicles with OEM autogas capability straight off the showroom floor.
