NAFA Reaches LinkedIn Milestone; 2,500 Members and Counting

(NOVEMBER 11, 2011 - PRINCETON, NJ) -- It's no secret that NAFA Members and Affiliates are engaged and committed to participation. This is, after all, the greatest strength of NAFA as an Association. For more than 50 years, NAFA has provided a community for fleet managers unlike any other.  That community not only continues today, but is taking advantage of the Internet where the Association's LinkedIn group has just reached a milestone with the addition of its 2,500th member.

NAFA's LinkedIn group (http://www.linkedin.com/groups?mostPopular=&gid=1042647) has connected the membership at all levels, sparked conversation about all the most pressing matters facing today's fleet professional, pointed the way to career and advertising opportunities, and turned a large group of participants, some separated by continents, into sources of information and guidance as close as one is to their internet-access device.

"If you told me when we started the NAFA LinkedIn group that we would reach 2,500 followers so quickly, I probably wouldn't have believed you," said NAFA's Executive Director, Phillip E. Russo, CAE. "LinkedIn is a great social networking vehicle for business.  The success of this group speaks volumes about our Membership's desire to share information and ideas. We provide the community and they just run with it!"

Founded in 2002 and launched in 2003, LinkedIn.com is a social networking site committed to connecting business people, founding relationships for purposes of employment opportunities, partnerships, and all that effective networking can offer. At over 116 million users, with a membership that grows by two people every second, it is no mystery that when the company's stock went public on May 19, 2011, it was one of the hottest Initial Public Offerings of shares for the year.

NAFA is committed to its all-inclusive relationships, and has a wide variety of ways to communicate with its Members including other social networking portals like Twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/nafafleet) and Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/nafafleet), as well as publications like the bi-monthly FLEETSolutions Magazine, Fleet Perspectives, and the bi-weekly FleetFOCUS newsletter.

Of course, NAFA hasn't abandoned good old-fashioned face to face networking either.  The Association's annual Institute & Expo is the largest and best attended fleet management event of the year.  The 2012 I&E will take place April 21-24 at America's Center in St. Louis, MO.  The event program, created by fleet managers for fleet managers, features over 60 hours of fleet training, education, and workshops, and contains Expo Floor consisting of more than 200 companies showcasing their products and services in front of fleet managers from throughout the world.
