State Of New York To Use Chevin Fleet Solutions' FleetWave

Fitchburg, MA – The State of New York Office of General Services goes online to gain control over fleet operating costs with Chevin Fleet Solutions’ FleetWave.

The State of New York Office of General Services chose Chevin’s web-based fleet management information system, FleetWave to manage the acquisition and management of its diverse fleet of more than 27,000 vehicles. The Office of General Services (OGS) is mandated by the State legislature to provide vehicles and related services to New York agencies, authorities and universities across the State and provides comprehensive services that include:
• Vehicle Procurement
• Acquisition of Alternative Fuel Vehicles
• Alternative Fuel Management
• NY State Fuel Card Program and Services
• Insurance, Risk and Accident Management Services

FleetWave’s uniquely flexible capabilities allow OGS to meet all these diverse requirements by replacing an aging, inflexible and non-integrated mainframe system with a single “enterprise-wide” fleet management information system. With its extensive experience working with and implementing flexible fleet management software solutions for Federal and State agencies, Chevin and FleetWave were a natural choice for the State of New York as they looked to enhance their state-wide fleet management and oversight capabilities.

As FleetWave delivers completely definable capabilities throughout, all of the OGS’ specific requirements were able to be met without the need for costly and time consuming development. With its industry leading web-based architecture, FleetWave has been deployed to remote agencies and departments around the State and is quickly accessed by casual users with Internet Explorer from anytime or anywhere. Using FleetWave’s integrated functionality, state-wide communications for all fleet related policies and procedures are easily accommodated, tracked and seamlessly consolidated on a monthly basis dramatically streamlining labor intensive process.

Through the use of potent technologies such as automated VIN Decoding and integration to external maintenance providers as well as conventional and alternative fuel providers, OGS has improved fleet data accuracy and finally has a harmonized view of complete operational details across the State.

“Public organizations like the Office of General Services face significant and constantly evolving challenges today. They need to maintain and offer a broad array of services to their customers while continuously improving oversight and cost management across an expansive geography,” said Ron Katz, Senior Vice President of North American Sales for Chevin. “FleetWave is an ideal software system for dynamic public sector organizations looking to enhance administrative oversight and improve customer service. FleetWave’s web-based architecture provides a centralized solution with comprehensive, yet extremely flexible capabilities for efficiently managing all fleet related components.”
