Dyno Nobel Transportation Outsources Fuel Management to FuelQuest Fuel Center®

HOUSTON – September 14, 2011 - FuelQuest Inc., the leading on-demand software and services company for the global downstream energy industry, announced today a five-year contract with Dyno Nobel Transportation, a subsidiary of Dyno Nobel and Incitec Pivot Limited. Founded by Alfred Nobel in 1865, Dyno Nobel has 150 locations across the U.S. and Canada supplying industrial explosives and blasting services to the mining, quarrying, seismic, and construction industries. Under the agreement, FuelQuest Fuel Center will provide outsourced fuel management services that will reduce Dyno Nobel's bulk fuel and operations costs.

"Our fleet is an integral part of how we service our customers.  Unfortunately, 2011 has been a year of rising and volatile fuel prices that have deleteriously affected our business," says Jeff McGuire, director of purchasing of Dyno Nobel Transportation. "After a thorough examination of our fuel operations and completion of an industry benchmarking process, we quickly determined that Fuel Center gave us the best opportunity to reduce our fuel costs and bring predictability back into our fuel operations spend."

With its team of fuel experts and industry-leading Fuel Management System (FMS) software, Fuel Center sources and manages fleet fuel operations by acting as a supplier-independent extension of the customer. Fuel Center assumes other critical fuel management activities including order management and fuel, freight, and tax charge reconciliation.  With fleet customers such as Carmeuse, FirstGroup, and Murphy Brown, Fuel Center provides the following benefits:

•    Reduced fuel costs and working capital requirements
•    Lower run-outs, retains, and invoice overpayments
•    Greater security of supply and fuel budget predictability
•    Access to fuel market expertise using best-in-class technology
Fuel Center also provides value management dashboards so customers such as Dyno Nobel can monitor the return on investment they are receiving from the Fuel Center service.

"We are excited to work with the Dyno Nobel Transportation team and help them attain better control over their fuel expenses," said Ryan Mossman, FuelQuest vice president and general manager of Fuel Center. "Fuel Center's outsourced fuel management services are critical for today's private fleet companies wanting to tackle one of their largest expense items – fuel.  With Fuel Center, companies realize savings that ultimately impact the company's bottom line."
