LeasePlan USA's Matthew Betz Moderates Best Practice Sharing Panel at the Green Fleet Conference

ALPHARETTA, Ga. (October 21, 2010) – During this year's Green Fleet Conference in San Diego on Oct. 18-19, 2010, Matthew Betz, vice president, government fleet services for LeasePlan USA, moderated the panel "Sharing Best Practices in Green Fleet Management."

The discussion focused on real-world examples of managing a green fleet.
The fleet managers who are leading the charge to sustainability, and served on the panel, were Erin Miller, City of Columbus, Ohio; Rick Ferguson, San Bernardino County Public Works; Vernon Helbig, City of Long Beach, CA; and Dan Steere, GreenRoad.

The attendees learned how savings from greening a fleet can offset the costs, among other valuable insights. Panelists shared their practical experiences in making green fleet initiatives part of an organization's "green" and overall goals, and that changing driver behavior is one of the quickest, most cost effective ways to reduce fuel consumption.

The 2010 Green Fleet Conference offered two full days of keynote presentations, workshops, seminars and panel discussions tailored to fleet professionals that incorporate an environmentally-friendly component into their operations. Sessions were broken up into corporate and government tracks to address the specific challenges facing each sector.
