Las
Vegas, NV – Natural
Gas Vehicle Institute (NGVi) is pleased to announce the addition of George
Arrants to the company’s Customer Solutions team. Arrants has over 20
years of experience in the automotive industry as both a business program
developer and instructor. He holds degrees in automotive technology, business
management and marketing and is an ASE Master Certified technician. As
Customer Solutions Manager at NGVi, Arrants will be responsible for
developing partnerships with national and major fleet accounts, truck
manufacturers and distributors, and other industry suppliers.
Arrants
has a long and impressive career in the automotive industry. Since 2004,
he has served as the voluntary Chair for SuperTech, the American Trucking
Association Technology and Maintenance Council’s prestigious annual national
technician skills competition. He will continue in that role after joining
NGVi.
In
his tenure at Snap-on Tools, Arrants developed collaborations that led to
industry certification for hundreds of schools. He served on the
National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) board of
trustees and was Snap-on’s liaison to Automotive Youth Educational Systems
(AYES), securing funding and developing programs that generated a pipeline of
entry-level technicians from over 1,000 schools for the OEM dealer
network. As Vice President of Industry Relations for Corinthian
Colleges, Arrants’ main focus was on program partnership development with
BMW, Ducati, Triumph and Volvo/Mack.
“George
brings specific knowledge and extensive experience in creating and building
industry partnerships to our company,” said Leo Thomason, Executive Director
of NGVi. “We are confident his expertise will keep NGVi at the forefront
of training in the natural gas vehicle industry.”
As
a guest of the government of Oman, Arrants evaluated the automotive programs
in that country and recommended improvements. He also worked closely with
U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration under
President George W. Bush where he led the automotive strategic development
team that advised the agency’s High Growth Job Training Initiative. In
addition, he was selected by the agency to help improve the curriculum and
training facilities of nationwide Job Corps programs in automotive services.
Rounding
out his technical and business development experience, Arrants also is the
co-author of the book “Preparing for NATEF/ASE Evaluation.”
