The Bulls Won’t Stop Fleet As NAFA’s International Fleet Academy Leads The Way

(PRINCETON, NJ – JULY 11, 2013) – When you manage a global fleet, your local calendar is only a starting point; you need to be aware of holidays and major events happening throughout the world.  Take fleet managers with vehicles in Spain, for example.  Every year at this time, they’re faced with streets closed for the annual Running of the Bulls.  In offices thousands of miles away, they had better have a plan for this week in place already or face complaints from drivers scrambling to avoid streets filled with adventure-seekers and angry, charging bulls.

While not every city has events like the Running of the Bulls, each region poses its own challenges and managing a multi-national fleet requires an extensive knowledge base to overcome whatever unique situations are encountered.  For over 55 years, NAFA Fleet Management Association has been providing fleet managers with quality, cutting-edge education they need for their job.  As corporations develop their fleets across the globe, NAFA is meeting the needs for dynamic global fleet education with the creation of NAFA’s annual International Fleet Academy.

NAFA’s 3rd Annual International Fleet Academy will take place October 21-23 at Loews Ventana Canyon in Tucson, AZ.  This 3-day conference was designed specifically to meet the needs of those who manage fleets outside of the United States and Canada.

"Each country has its own way of handling fleet management with different rules and regulations, unique challenges, and its own traditions," said NAFA’s Executive Director, Phillip E. Russo, CAE. "The Running of the Bulls is just one light-hearted example of the kinds of obstacles facing fleet managers, and there are many others much more serious.”  NAFA’s International Fleet Academy offers fleet professionals the opportunity to discuss the problems and challenges they’re facing with some of the brightest minds in global fleet management."

In addition to over 15 educational sessions, the conference offers exclusive networking opportunities and a cocktail reception and dinner each night. Early-bird registration is $650 for NAFA members and $1,105 for non-members. After August 16, registration costs are $799 for NAFA members and $1,550 for non-members. Fleet professionals may save $200 off the registration costs by joining NAFA as they register.

Attendees receive several value-added educational items to take back to the office including a ready-to-use executive summary; free subscription to International Fleet World magazine; the newly published NAFA’s Global Fleet Guide; and valuable checklists for policies, RFIs, and RFQs.  All total, it’s a resource package valued at $2,500 – well worth the registration costs alone.

"Fleet managers have to know the specifics of the regions they are responsible for," added Russo. "With the education they’ll receive at NAFA’s International Fleet Academy, they’ll learn how to run fleets efficiently no matter what’s going on that week.”
