INDIANAPOLIS (USA) (Jan. 18, 2011) —
Firestone Industrial Products Company, LLC (FSIP) has named Albino Pinto as
director of its São Paulo, Brazil, facility. Pinto succeeds Acacio Santos, who
is retiring after serving as a valued member of the Bridgestone Americas family
since 1973.
“Albino’s industry knowledge and
extensive work experience are ideal for this position. With his leadership, we
will continue to provide the global air springs market with a superior
product,” said John Vincent, president at FSIP.
Pinto began his career 31 years ago in
billing at Bridgestone de Brasil (BSBR). Since then, he has held a number of
roles within the company, including senior financial operations analyst,
financial operations supervisor and export manager at the Brazilian tire
division. From 1999 to 2002, Pinto served as operations manager and controller
for Bridgestone Latin America at the Nashville, Tenn., USA, facility. In 2002,
he returned to Brazil and most recently became export/import and bid sales
manager at BSBR.
Pinto holds a Bachelor’s Degree in
business administration from Senador Flaquer University, São Paulo, Brazil.
The Brazil facility manufactures
Airide(TM) air springs for trucks, trailers, commercial buses, rail cars
and mass-transit vehicles. It is one of three FSIP manufacturing plants to have
earned ISO/TS 16949 certification, a technical specification created by the
International Automotive Task Force to align quality system standards for
automotive products worldwide.
