INDUSTRY VETERAN STEVE BORELLI NAMED OPERATIONS MANAGER AS ECO-EDGE EXPANDS REPUTATION AS GO-TO EXPERT FOR ECO-EFFICIENCY

CHANDLER, Ariz. (Jan. 10, 2011):  Steve Borelli, a 30-year veteran of the mining and transportation industries with extensive fleet management experience, has been named Operations Manager at Eco-Edge.  Eco-Edge matches companies with innovative, eco-efficient technologies to reduce their environmental impact while generating optimal performance and profitability from their fleets and equipment.

Borelli, of Queen Creek, will be responsible for customer service, field operations, inventory, asset and people management as well as for administering the company’s safety program in compliance with all federal and state regulations and for organizational planning.

Previously, he had managed large fleets of between 80 and 300 trucks for Heritage Trucking and Otto Trucking, both in Mesa, after spending more than 20 years with Red Mountain Mining of Mesa including responsibilities as Operations Manager.

“Steve’s extensive background in fleet management operations in two key industries will be significant for Eco-Edge as we continue expanding our client base and customer outreach,” said Eco-Edge President Debra Johnson.  “The company produced solid growth in 2010 despite the economic environment, and we refined and refocused our process to create an even more efficient and cost-effective system to quickly bring eco-efficient solutions to companies that can cut fuel usage between 10 and 15 percent, decrease a fleet’s oil changes by two-thirds and reduce accidents by up to 30 percent.”

Eco-Edge uses a “Consumer Reports/Underwriters’ Laboratory-style analysis to select best-in-class technologies, validate their effectiveness and ensure they can be safely, efficiently and effectively installed and used by large fleets,” Johnson said.  “Through environmentally sustainable methods, our solutions offer improved fuel economy, reduced maintenance and material costs, and more efficient operations.”

Eco-Edge was a finalist for a 2010 Better Business Bureau Ethics Award as well as for the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Impact Award and two national Stevie Awards for Women in Business.  In 2009, the company was named the APS Sustainability Suppler of the Year.
