TORONTO, Aug. 8, 2013 – Looking to
extend a helping hand to their neighbours in Calgary, the teams at Manheim
Edmonton and Source Auto Auction are offering a 1989 Chevrolet Corvette
convertible to raise funds for Calgary flood relief. Donated by Source
Auto Auction CEO, Danny Fayad, the car gives dealers a chance to win a “dream
ride” and provide much needed financial assistance.
Dealers who make a $1,000 donation to
help flood victims between now and Aug. 28 will be entered into a draw for a
chance to win the sports car. The draw is slated for Aug. 29 during the
auction’s “Hot August Auction” sale, an event offering a “cool” ride home to
the lucky winner.
Fayad, who recently entered into a
financial partnership with Manheim Canada, making the location Manheim’s first
Western Canada venture, had been looking for a way to help. “We all know people
affected by the tragic flooding in the Calgary area,” said Fayad. “My
heart goes out to them. As I heard customers telling stories of the
hardship experienced by their friends, families and employees, I wanted to do
something.”
“Serving the communities where we work
is an integral part of our Manheim culture,” said Julie Picard, Manheim’s
market vice president of pacific operations including Western Canada. “All of
our locations across Canada will support this effort. Danny’s desire to help
employees, customers and their friends and family underscores his great
partnership.”
Dealers can view the Corvette and
condition report by visiting http://sourceaa.com/,
