Kansas City, Mo. – June 24, 2010 – By all accounts, this year’s Association of Diesel Specialist’s (ADS) Latin American Regional meeting was a resounding success. The 29th annual meeting was attended by over 150 delegates, exhibitors, vendors, spouses, family and friends of the diesel industry.
Seminars, technical training, a Tradeshow and two site visits made up the program which was held May 19 – 23, 2010 at the Hotel Camino Real in Guadalajara, Jal., Mexico. Over 85 companies from 13 different countries were represented.
The ADS Board member and meeting host was Ricardo Berrueta of Berrueta Diesel Parts, S.A. de C.V. in Guadalajara. ADS President Ken O’Brien of Cadel in Canada had positive comments about the meeting, “the ADS Manufacturer Members and suppliers supported this event with informative seminars and a record number of exhibit booths and displays. It was refreshing to hear everyone sharing optimism for the future of the diesel industry which continues to grow and prosper in this region.”
David Fehling, ADS Executive Director reported that there were 20 tradeshow booths at the event, 3 of those were first time exhibitors that reported a good amount of interest in their products.
The 2010 regional meeting featured networking social events, timely topic seminars and workshops, technical training, panel discussions and forward looking presentations. Mr. Alberto Quiroga from SICAA discussed the subject of how to reduce and confront our daily problems faced in today’s business world. Quiroga gave the delegates a variety of tips on how to these daily issues. Mr. Salvador Berrueta gave a training session via video demonstrating the verification and repair of the M-Promp valves. This procedure required several sophisticated pieces of test equipment which were used during the demonstration. In addition to the great education and networking events attendees were privileged to visit ADS member shop, Turbocargadores de Guadalajara. The shop visit consisted of a presentation on the Garret turbocharger line followed by a tour and finally refreshments and entertainment by a Mariachi Band.
