AutoTex PINK Aims to Raise $50,000 for Breast Cancer by End of 2010

October 1, 2010 - Pine Brook, NJ: Paula Lombard, President of Wexco Industries and founder of AutoTex PINK windshield wiper blades, has announced that the company wants to raise $50,000 for breast cancer awareness and research by the end of 2010. Sales of AutoTex PINK windshield wiper blades generate donations to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (www.nbcf.org) or the Breast Cancer Society of Canada (www.bcsc.ca). The announcement coincides with the start of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“The breast cancer awareness cause is the reason behind AutoTex PINK,” said Paula Lombard, who developed the windshield wiper blade brand a year ago. “We have been very successful this first year and our goal is to raise $50,000 by the end of the year.”

Products with a pink ribbon or ones that donate to breast cancer are not new, but Lombard and AutoTex PINK are the first to bring the cause to an automotive product. AutoTex PINK windshield wiper blades come in a standard black color with a small pink ribbon promoting the cause of breast cancer research and awareness. They are available in metal or frameless and fit over 98% of vehicles on the road.

Because of its uniqueness, Lombard and AutoTex PINK wiper blades will be featured on the Lifetime Network’s “The Balancing Act” on October 14th and 28th from 7-8 AM. The segment will be aired during the show’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness Special. Lombard will discuss AutoTex PINK’s campaign to “Wipe Out Breast Cancer” as well as some car care tips for women during the segment.

“AutoTex PINK is more than just wiper blades,” said Lombard. “We have a community Website - MyAutoTexPINK.com - that is a social networking site that focuses on women and car care. The site is a resource where members can learn about ways to take care of themselves as well as their cars.”
