Sparks,
MD – May 23, 2011 – Center for Transportation Safety, a division of PHH
Arval, was named a Finalist for New Product or Service of the Year in the
Services category of the ninth annual American Business Awards and is now
eligible for a Stevie Award.
Last year, PHH
Arval added a new division called the Center for Transportation Safety, or CTS,
as the result of an acquisition in July 2010 of CTS’ assets, a leading provider
of fleet risk management and driver training solutions. Combined with PHH’s
existing risk and safety programs, the new driver training capability is
delivering enhanced results in helping companies alleviate risk and have fewer
accidents.
“One of the top
concerns of our clients is the safety of their drivers and the risk inherent in
operating fleet vehicles,” said Jay Shelly, Vice President, Center for
Transportation Safety. “The goal behind all of our training programs is to
simulate all potential real-world driving situations and equip drivers to react
to the way their vehicle will respond before ever going out on the road.”
CTS clients
have achieved tremendous results after completing the driver training
programs. One major client put 4,000 of
its fleet drivers through the training and saw its crash rate per million miles
decrease by 10 percent. Another client realized a 43 percent reduction in
property damage incidents over the course of the year’s program.
In addition to
the training programs provided by CTS, clients can also utilizePHH’s telematics
service, PHH Onboard®, to help improve driver behavior behind the
wheel.
The awards are presented by the Stevie Awards, which organizes several of the world’s leading business awards shows including the prestigious American Business Awards.
