Corridor Clean Fuels Developing Dothan, Alabama's First Compressed Natural Gas Fueling Station

Corridor Clean Fuels (Corridor), in partnership with Home Oil Company and the Southeast Alabama Gas District, announced today that it will build a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station at Home’s location at 735 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, Alabama. The state of Alabama currently has seven (7) public CNG stations. Corridor’s fast-fill station will be the largest public station in the state, designed to handle high-volume Class 5-8 trucks and refuse fleets, along with a growing market of light and medium duty natural gas vehicles (NGVs).

“Besides being the cleanest burning fossil fuel, our country’s vast abundance of natural gas affords significant savings to vehicle owners, as we expect to offer natural gas at an initial cost of less than $2.00 per gasoline gallon equivalent,” according to Randy Spence, COO of Corridor Clean Fuels.

The station, which is expected to open in the summer of 2014, will distribute its Cynergy brand of fuel. According to Corridor’s CEO Dan Johnson, “This station will allow us to meet the growing need for our country’s CNG fueling infrastructure in an area that serves as a hub of regional transportation along a heavily traveled corridor. We look forward to offering Cynergy fuel to NGV owners at a price savings of up to 40% on their fuel costs.” Robert Shepard, CFO of Corridor added, “Home Oil’s location and outstanding track record in the fueling business represented an excellent opportunity for us with Dothan’s first station.”

“We are very excited to partner with Corridor Clean Fuels to participate in moving our country toward a cleaner, domestic, less expensive choice for fueling the transportation industry, “ said Greg Henderson, President and CEO of The Southeast Alabama Gas District. “We believe the willingness of natural gas distribution companies to partner with CNG infrastructure developers is a key component in the widespread development and adoption of natural gas as a transportation fuel.”

The CNG station and dispensers will be built in conjunction with Home Oil’s plans to remodel its current facility. “We think CNG will grow rapidly in adoption over the next 5 to 10 years”, said Tim Shirley, President of Home Oil Company. “This partnership with Corridor Clean Fuels allows us to diversify our fueling options and gain traction as the market for natural gas fueling develops.”
