SAN DIEGO – April 11, 2011 – Networkfleet, Inc. today announced that it has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service for its wireless fleet management system. Administered by GSA Fleet, the vehicle leasing arm of the federal government, the BPA includes GPS vehicle tracking and diagnostics services and allows federal agencies to easily order Networkfleet products and services along with other fleet equipment under GSA schedules.
GSA Fleet provides fleet management services to approximately 75 participating federal agencies. Managing more than 217,000 vehicles in 2010, GSA Fleet is one of the largest non-tactical federal fleets in the U.S. government, encompassing automobiles, passenger vans, light, medium, and heavy trucks, buses and ambulances.
"Networkfleet has been a provider of choice for government fleets through the GSA since 2005. By working closely with federal, state and local governments, we have been able to demonstrate how Networkfleet reduces operating costs and improves driver safety," said Keith Schneider, president and CEO of Networkfleet. "The establishment of this Blanket Purchase Agreement will make it easy for federal government fleet managers to benefit from reduced fuel expenses, lower emissions and better fleet utilization."
Networkfleet's wireless fleet management system combines patented remote diagnostic monitoring with continuously updated GPS-based location. By connecting to a vehicle's onboard computer (OBD-II), Networkfleet collects precise information such as actual vehicle speed, diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), current emissions status, and miles-per-gallon. Examples of Networkfleet's federal government fleet customers include the U.S. Marines Corps, the Marine Forces Reserve, V.A. Hospitals and numerous government agencies.
