FORD CANADA SALES UP 8%; BEST AUGUST IN 20 YEARS

OAKVILLE, Ontario, September 1, 2010 – Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited saw sales increase 8 per cent in August, marking the best August on record in 20 years. With 24,034 units sold, Ford of Canada posted its highest August sales since 1990. Products across the entire lineup showed positive results including CUV sales which increased 21 per cent and truck sales which rose 5 per cent, helping to boost overall sales. Ford continues to be Canada's top-selling manufacturer in 2010 with sales up 17 per cent year-to-date.

"Consumers are beginning to recognize Ford, not only as a great truck company but as a great car company too," said David Mondragon, president and CEO. "Third parties are also recognizing the quality of our vehicles. Just recently, the Ford Fiesta became the first 'mini-car' to earn a 2010 Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) since the introduction of a new roof strength test.

Not only have we held our ground this year after an unprecedented time in the auto industry -- we've had positive year-over-year sales gains," added Mondragon. "Consumers are showing their confidence in the Ford brand and we will continue to deliver what they want and value."

For example, due to strong customer response, Ford is extending its Ford Employee Pricing Event until September 30, 2010. Over the past two months, more than 40,000 Canadians have taken advantage of Ford employee prices on most 2010 and 2011 Ford and Lincoln vehicles.

"The Ford brand now has the highest initial quality among all non-luxury brands and with great offers like this, we are inspiring even more Canadians to get behind the wheel to experience that quality," said Mondragon.
