Alliance AutoGas Holds Annual National Meeting in Biloxi, MS

Asheville, NC.-- September 30, 2013-- Over 90 members, partners and affiliates of Alliance AutoGas representing 35 U.S states plus international representatives from Netherlands and Canada met for an annual gathering this month in Biloxi, MS.
Alliance AutoGas is a national consortium of more than 85 autogas partners and fueling providers, certified conversion centers, technology providers and supportive affiliates. The Alliance is the largest integrated network of clean fueling, vehicle conversion and high-performance technical expertise in the U.S -- converting vehicle fleets from gasoline to clean-burning, domestic propane AutoGas and provides on-site fueling infrastructure, operational & safety training as well as ongoing fuel provision and technical support.

Opening remarks were presented by Stuart Weidie, president and CEO of Blossman Gas and founding president of Alliance AutoGas. Blossman Gas is the founding partner of the Alliance.  Bart van Aerle, President and CEO of PRINS Autogas, a global technology leader in alternative fuel systems provided the latest update on vapor and liquid injection systems, direct injection and diesel blend technology. In February of this year, Alliance AutoGas announced a new agreement with PRINS.  PRINS awarded Alliance AutoGas with U.S. distribution rights to its line of fleet-tested autogas vehicle conversion equipment.

BL Energie President and Alliance partner Yvon Boisclair of Quebec, Canada updated the membership on diesel blend technology. Representatives from Rousch CleanTech, and Key-Stone Automotive spoke to the Alliance on their autogas achievements and best practices. Jesse Johnson, Vice President of Blossman Gas provided updates on EPA Certifications.  Alliance AutoGas has recently unveiled its U.S. Autogas Technology Center located in Asheville, N.C.  The new U.S. Autogas Technology Center includes an autogas equipment distribution center, an autogas vehicle technician training facility and an autogas equipment research and development center. The Autogas Technology Center is managed by Blossman Services, Inc., which is a subsidiary of Alliance AutoGas founding partner Blossman Gas. Blossman has over six decades of autogas fueling and product distribution experience.

Alliance Auto Gas President Stuart Weidie notes, “We are grateful to our members and partners for the accelerated progress that is being seen in fleet conversions. “ He adds, “In just three years, this fleet-first approach has enabled Alliance AutoGas to switch thousands of vehicles over to this cleaner, affordable, domestically-produced fuel. Alliance has helped its fleet customers offset thousands of tons of greenhouse gas emissions while preventing the transfer of millions of dollars to foreign oil suppliers.”

There are 2,843 total autogas stations in the U.S., citing U.S. DOE statistics. “The Alliance is playing an important role in increasing that number to make clean fueling more widely available for American fleets,” says Weidie who also states that U.S. “lags far behind the international community in adopting autogas vehicle fuel – our country drives less than 2% of the world’s 19 million-plus autogas vehicles. Fleets desire to reduce costs, reduce emissions and reduce dependence on foreign oil – and the Alliance program is the most reliable choice to help them quickly reach those objectives.”
