WYTHEVILLE, Va. (September
30, 2013) – Old Dominion Freight
Line, Inc. today relocated its Wytheville Service Center to a larger facility,
reflecting the company’s continued national expansion.
With 12 employees, the facility provides a wide range of LTL and logistics
services, including pickup and delivery to a tri-state area (Virginia, North
Carolina and West Virginia). The service center also serves as an important
turn-point location for Old Dominion’s linehaul
operations.
Located strategically at the junction of Interstates 81 and 77 in Southwest
Virginia, the 14-door facility transports a variety of freight, much of which
stems from the region’s strong manufacturing and mining industries.
“We’re thrilled to expand in Wythe County, an area that continues to
demonstrate incredible economic potential,” said Trent Yates, manager of the
Wytheville Service Center. “The additional space will increase our
productivity, enable future growth in the region and ensure that we continue to
provide our customers with the premium service they expect.”
Old Dominion, recently named one of the nation’s fastest growing companies by FORTUNE Magazine, continues to invest in
new or existing facilities around the country. The company expects to spend $130 million
on real estate purchases and expansion projects by the end of
2013.
The Wytheville facility’s service area includes Pulaski, Bluefield, Tazewell,
Richlands, Marion, Galax, Dublin in Virginia; McDowell, Mercer and Wyoming Counties
in West Virginia; and Sparta, N.C.
The facility is located at 830 Industry Road in Wytheville and is one of nine Old Dominion service centers in Virginia.
