BENDIX FLEET METLOK® PADS: OFFERING HIGH SPEED STOPPING, REDUCED VEHICLE DOWNTIME

Emergency vehicles, tow trucks and other fleet vehicles are often subjected to extreme operating situations that require the maximum stopping power and reliability that ordinary brakes can’t keep up with. But Honeywell Friction Materials meets the needs of fleet and severe duty users with Bendix Fleet MetLok® disc brake pads, a severe-duty friction formula developed, tested and engineered to meet demanding operating conditions.
Bendix Fleet MetLok brake pads offer outstanding stopping power even under high temperatures. The ‘fleet tough’ friction material is integrally molded and utilizes a robust attachment method to provide increased resistance to lining-plate separation. The pads include slots and chamfers to mirror the original equipment design, and come equipped with high-quality steel insulators to help ensure quieter braking.
“This robust product is designed specifically for heavy duty use, which is why it’s the product of choice for many fleet operators, especially law enforcement and rescue services,” said Jim Kelley, Director of Sales, North America for Honeywell Friction Materials. “With excellent stopping power and virtually fade-free performance, our Fleet MetLok pads were designed with the roughest, most extreme conditions in mind.”
In addition, to help get fleet vehicles in and out of the garage faster, the Bendix team includes all the value-added components (where required or applicable), like hardware, sensors and clips right in the box. This sweeping effort across all of the premium Bendix brake pad lines was carried out to help professional technicians get the job done right the first time. Each Fleet MetLok product comes with:
1.       Shims – A variety of premium noise insulators are used across the Bendix product lines to help eliminate noise-related comebacks. Every disc pad SKU includes a noise insulator and all of the insulators have been attached at the factory.
2.       Hardware – From abutment kits to spreader springs, all necessary hardware needed to help restore OE performance, eliminate comebacks and reduce installation time is included in the box.
3.       Wire Wear Sensors – Wear sensors allow the vehicle’s wear indicator system to operate as originally designed. Restoring the wear indicator function is necessary for a top-notch premium brake job.
4.       Product Protection – Each brake pad set is individually wrapped to guarantee shipment quality.
Bendix has been a trusted name in brakes since 1924. The team has a proven track record of delivering premium innovations that meet or exceed OE and aftermarket vehicle requirements. All products are subjected to a comprehensive Honeywell testing protocol using industry standard procedures, which includes both laboratory brake dynamometers and real-world road tests on a wide range of vehicles and conditions.
