DriveWise CEO Addresses Importance of Effective Driver Training at NAFA Canada Seminar

BARRIE, July 26, 2011 /WSC/ - DriveWise (www.drivewisesafety.com) President & CEO Lesley de Repentigny has been invited to share her experiences in training during the National Association of Fleet Administrators' (www.nafa.org ) Canadian Conference in Toronto, Ontario at the Doubletree by Hilton on September 20, 2011 at 8am.

“I’m thrilled to be invited back to speak about the importance of effective driver training programs and share some of my experiences from the military, as an air traffic controller and as CEO of a rapidly growing company,” says de Repentigny. This will be her second time speaking at a NAFA meeting this year. Previously, she spoke about the benefits of EcoDriving, a program developed by DriveWise to encourage fuel efficiency and the link between driving fuel efficiently and safely.

Moderating the session is Pedro Miranda, NAFA Quebec Chapter Chair and Project Manager with Societe de Transport de Montreal (STM, www.stm.info/). STM is the 15th largest corporation in Quebec and accounts for 85% of all public transit trips in the province.

DriveWise will be exhibiting during the two-day seminar on Monday September 19 with their driving simulator, showing delegates, participants, speakers and attendees the many benefits of implementing simulation into existing training programs. “I realized during my time as an air traffic controller that simulation training can make the difference between a close call and a tragedy,” continued Lesley from DriveWise Headquarters in Barrie, Ontario. “It is important that fleets and organizations realize the learning power of interactive technology, especially in today’s society where technological advancements are happening rapidly.”

DriveWise will be holding demonstrations throughout the day on topics like distracted driving, speed management, following distance, intersections, merging and adverse conditions in a variety of vehicle types. These include passenger vehicles, delivery vehicles, heavy trucks, emergency response vehicles and more. For more information, visit www.drivewisesafety.com or on Twitter @DriveWiseSafety.
