Wawa and Wright Express Team Up to Offer Proprietary and Universal Card Program

July 5, 2011- Portland, ME-- Wright Express Corporation (NYSE: WXS), a leading global provider of business payment processing and information management solutions to the U.S. commercial and government fleet industry, has signed an agreement with the privately held Wawa Inc., to offer customers a Proprietary and Universal Fleet Card Program.

Wawa operates a chain of over 580 convenience stores, 287 of which offer fuel throughout a five state area including: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. The partnership with Wright Express comes after an increasing customer demand for a Wawa fleet card program.

“We appreciate and believe the Wright Express systems and fleet card solutions are the best choice for Wawa, but what really is important is our belief that Wright Express has a culture of excellence, customer focus and building relationships similar to Wawa. That will be the basis for our long term partnership,” said Norman Turiano, Senior Manager of Fuel Marketing at Wawa.

The launch of the program is part of Wawa’s goal to add more value and services to its customers and communities.

“Our partnership with Wawa stems directly from their commitment to delivering a high level of customer service. It is an honor to begin a partnership with a company who works so hard to please customers. I’m confident Wawa will be successful in their expansion efforts,” said David D. Maxsimic, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Wright Express.

About Wawa, Inc.
Wawa, Inc., a privately held company, began in 1803 as an iron foundry in New Jersey. Toward the end of the 19th Century, owner George Wood took an interest in dairy farming and the family began a small processing plant in Wawa, Pa, in 1902. The milk business was a huge success, due to its quality, cleanliness and “certified” process. As home delivery of milk declined in the early 1960’s, Grahame Wood, George’s grandson, opened the first Wawa Food Market in 1964 as an outlet for dairy products. Today, Wawa operates more than 580 stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.
